About me

I am an Essex based Psychotherapist and trainer, trained in Integrative Counselling, Hypnotherapy with Psychotherapy, NLP, CBT, EFT, EMDR, with an MA in Counselling & Psychotherapy Practice. I've been in private practice since 2016.

I am experienced in working with Anxiety, Phobias, Trauma, OCD and relationship issues.

I work with adults from all walks of life, and I welcome each person as the individual they are, regardless of gender, race, faith, identity, cultural or spiritual beliefs, sexuality, neurodiversity or disability.

My supervisor describes me as 'straightforward' which I feel sums up my approach, however despite my pragmatism I am warm, down to earth and non-judgmental.

I have experience in supporting Emergency Services Staff both privately and through Frontline19 and enjoy helping those with burnout find their way back to good mental health.

How I became a therapist...

I never thought I'd become a therapist. I was the most unlikely person to accept help & was cynical about 'therapy' in general, so I come from a place of understanding what it takes to make that decision. I get it when clients find it tough to open up or feel that getting help shows weakness. I enjoy working with those who are skeptical because it's so rewarding when someone who didn't want to seek help, leaves therapy in a better place mentally.

I guess I ended up here because I've always been interested in psychology, so while I was teaching for the Emergency Services in London, I attended an 10 month NLP course back in 2006 to learn about the psychology of language & communication. I learned a little about Hypnotherapy on this course & decided to train in that next. Then the counselling came naturally afterwards and the rest is history, I'm still going, I will never stop learning as it's an integral part of being a therapist.

Recently I've dusted off my training skills to deliver workshops to therapists on The Rewind Technique for Trauma, because since researching it for my masters degree, I'm passionate about making this amazing tool available to all therapists.

My next step is to offer supervision, so I will be taking on supervisees in 2026 and am excited to support fellow therapists in their practice.

So that's my story so far & here I am doing a job I love!
